Liberté Chan of ‘KTLATV’ was giving Saturday’s forecast in a blackish dress with sparkling sequins and tassels when she was suddenly handed a sweater by co host Chris Burrous, who said station was getting loads of emails.
Not appropriate for morning weather report. Then again, toshow’s producers should not have allowed her to put on a cocktail dress. Should have given it to her afterwards. This is where it starts getting serious. One viewer wrote. Anyways, liberté Chan looks like she stayed out late at a party, came to work in identical dress. All in all, poorly done all around. That’s interesting. Handing her a sweater during report was also in very poor taste.

She was forced to change into a ‘backup’ dress, since national outcry over toevent, Chan ok to her personal page to explain that original blackandwhite patterned dress that she had planned to wear was not agreeing with greenish chromakey screen that displays weather maps behind her.
During 8am hour, my ‘coanchor’ came over and handed me a sweater and said, we’re getting a bunch of emails. After my first weather hit at 6am, pattern on my original blackish and almost white dress didn’t work on weather wall, I changed. Of course grey beaded dress was a backup, in order to be perfectly honest.
For torecord, I was not ordered by KTLA to put on tosweater.
I want our viewers to know it was never our intention to offend anyone, since talking to my team. And, also for torecord, there is no controversy at KTLA.
We are friends on and off air and if you watch our newscast, you know that. My bosses did not order me to put on tocardigan, it was a spontaneous moment.
It really didn’t need all attention it was given, dress was in wrong place at wrong time. The dress covers everything that is required and unlike some dresses color did not make dress or weather girl INVISIBLE as has happened to some during broadcasting. There was nothing in poor taste or fit, about it.
People seem to forget that screen behind weather person isn’t a display screen its a dark green chromakey screen used as a place holder for video mixer that filters out GREEN color and adds in image we see weather reporter pointing at during tobroadcast.
Fact that this dress covered her -uh -private areas made it a great dress for reporting toweather, mOST prom. And other formal attire that teen girls wear day is completely and tally inappropriate? So here is a question. On toair? A well-known fact that is. That is some real amazingly faulty thinking right there! Let’s be honest. Now let me tell you something. Seriously?
The fact that this is an expectation makes it all more troubling. She’d never display herself on dance floor like a typical street walker, she might very well love her husband passionately in private. Good taste requires wearing a little grey dress for appropriate occasion and THIS wouldn’t be it. Jealous? Then, would you want your mom, wife, daughter, sister to be seen in grocery store wearing a bikini? However. Hello! Consequently. So. Like for an actual cocktail party and/or a romantic night on totown dinner and dancing with my husband. Yeah -that. PTA meetings or a soccer game.

As Americans, we have clearly lost our way and our greatest moral compass, and men used to be real men o -and women ladies anyway APPRECIATED it. My husband appreciates fact that I’m a decent cook in tokitchen, a wellbehaved lady in living room and in public, and a smoking hottie in bedroom -toone place it’s actually appropriate to be one. Notice, more women should follow suit and divorce rate wouldn’t be to moon in this country like it is now. A well-known fact that is. WITH my husband!
