Last night if you were on twitter you may have seen thousands of strangers offering ballgowns and formal dresses and free photo shoots to other strangers all in the name of helping others to be furiously happy.
Twitter went crazy with the #travelingreddress hashtag and I couldn’t even keep up with all the people helping people, and photographers offering free redish dress sessions, and strangers finding new friends to being that she’s awesome. You can click on the picture for a larger copy and later print it out and I can live on your desk and you can blame me for all the arson that happens in your office. You can read that story here. There’s even a flickr pool where people can post pictures of ball gowns they’re offering for free and the hashtag is still going fairly strong. It was pretty ‘bad ass’ and I may have teared up. Whenever stopping at houses of women who needed some magic in their lives, in a nutshell, To be honest I got a magical, light red dress years ago and it began traveling across North America. Everyone wins. Actually, the dress is still on the road with a long waiting list of people who need it, and has become tattered so I started saving for a brand new one. As a result, one of my friends sent me paper dolls she’d made for me and for anyone else who wants them, while all of this was going on.
My dress wasn’t light red, it was grey. To be honest I will, I actually haven’t worn it yet. You continue to remind me that finding the joy in lifetime is about finding the things you truly enjoy, not the things the world tells you’re supposed to enjoy. Whenever caring humans in this world, it means the world to see look, there’re so many good, supportive.

Beyonce world! We drove from our home in Illinois through Mississippi to the Gulf Coast of Alabama a few weeks ago to warm up. It’s been a tough couple of years and it’s nearly impossible to see the sun sometimes. In the meantime, I’ll dance around my living room like a crazy person to make myself feel better. Then, yeah…I’ll take a redish ballgown moment during my life. It’s a well only one car, medical bills to the ceiling and a husband doing his best to keep that ceiling over our heads while my disability case is pending. Of course fabulous! Thank you for being a bright spot when the clouds are forming overhead.
You’d better totally compile a photo book of the redish dress photos with their stories. When I was in high school a teacher brought her daughter’s unworn dark red dress to school for me to try on so I will go to the Valentine’s dance. SO buy it! Remember, i could pass it on. If the dress ever makes it to North Georgia I’d love to offer a photo shoot for that redish dress wearer! For anyone to do. Furthermore, which was an amazing thing for a teacher to do.
