It Is A Tricky One For An Event Like Jane’s – Female Party Dresses

June 16th, 2016 by admin under female party dresses

Now whenit gets to dressesI a few days ago reread one of my favourite Grace Kelly quotes which I think applies quite well to evening dressing.

We’ve got my selection ofChristmas party dressesfor ladies more than 40, with that in mind. So here’s a question. Shall you wear them? It is a tricky one. For an event like Jane’s, absolutely -but then you have got the cost per wear problem. Thus, probably it is the Northerner in me still I like the concept that I could still wear a grey tie dress to the theatre or dinner in a good hotel whereas not looking overdone. I tend to steer away from long -however -when I thought I should be receiving an award that practically mattered like Jane, this is what I’d wear. Starting with my favourite -pure Bond maid glamour.

This one is alittle less sparkly and more classic -it reminds me of Dynasty and the 80s so you will should be careful with your hair to avoid looking throwback but then we are heading in a 80s revival. You will need to think about temperature -the long sleeves could mean you will end up looking extremely rosy cheeked in case the room was warm. Whilst we’re on the ‘long’ theme, plenty of the most stylish looking girls at the last event I went to were wearing long or midi skirts with tops. Now the are really versatileas you could wear them on Christmas month or for a drinks party with acquaintances. They tend to look chic instead of overdressed. The significant subject is to get the proportions right so you’re going for that Grace Kelly look with a lofty waist, think one 3rd, 2 thirds which is often a proper proportion. That’s where it starts getting extremely entertaining, right? Hope fitness which was developed for girls over I’ll talk more about Hope in next week’s post and show you how it looks on me -sadly it maybe won’t be as chic as this but isn’t it good to see brandsusing models just like this.

Now the knee length cocktail dress is oftentimes going to be classic chic and there’re lots around.

As Jane says, you oftenhave toinvest to get something that fits virtually well and fit and flare can look a bit prom queen or muttony. Unless… you go for midi length. In reality, midi length is looking very well this season. This is my favourite of Boden’s party dresses this year, a good deal more lower key than the dresses above but beyond doubt that makes it highly versatile. Nevertheless, the neckline is pretty flattering and I will addsparkly shoes and a bag for a party.

In the meantime I hope you’ve all had a decent month.

Christmas -I should go in the head-quarters on Monday next month but next I’m going to put my foot down and stick to my 3 month day as there’re too lots of exciting things to blog about. Notice, I’m going to leave you with the John Lewis Christmas commercial which was released tonight, in order to get you in the hristmas mood. This is mainly for the privilege of your overseas readers who may not see what an international treasure John Lewis has happen to be here in the UK. These days it has transformed itself and the Christmas TV commercial is now as vast here as the CocaCola truck is being in the US. Keep in touch.
