With a CD launch party at seven Jan, debbie Anthony of Rochester will celebrate her album All Over released earlier this year. Rochester Civic Theatre. Remember, she was amid finalists and I got to perform Shania’s ‘You’re Still One’ at a Down by Riverside show in front of a crowd of perhaps 15000 people. It’s a well cut to a few years later when Debbie was back in Rochester and entered a American Idol-esque contest.
That song has usually been what brought me to country music, and we sing it as one of my covers now. It turned out a lot better that time, and it was a lot fun. That doesn’t necessarily mean doing a job you hate for some of our own essence, it means doing something that you love. Known music is always now her encore career. Oftentimes he says you don’t necessarily have to retire if our own work gets value to others and meaning to yourself. It is my encore, for me, so it is my second career and something we love. My husband, Mitch, is a writer, author and speaker, and he has a book called, ‘the newest Retirementality,’ which talks about encore careers.
Her passion for music was reignited when Mitch wrote a song for her, called Faithful. She performed it on their 25th anniversary. You don’t hear loads of songs about people who was married a long time or celebrating that long enduring love, and that’s what they love to sing about, she said, there’re a bunch of songs about heartbreak and lots of songs about junior love. Plenty of songs come from heartache but Debbie chooses to focus on lasting love thereafter. One stop on Debbie’s musical journey was when she was living in Nebraska and entered a contest where the winning prize was a recording contract in Nashville. Though the album has been her first, Debbie said she’s often been a singer.
