I won’t leave the light on for you, thank you for stopping by, hope to see you once again real. Leading up to my milestone birthday, my best BFFs demonstrates me how they wanted us all to celebrate.
They understood a trip was in order, since they understand that I live to travel.
I though, think or practically all of us were surprised that we were able to make it happen. On p of that, they possibly weren’t surprised when I said that they wanted us to celebrate in Cartagena. With a couple of minor tweaks on the dates, and adding a really new buddie to our party about 2 weeks before large day, we set off on our adventure.
We ok a seven am flight out of Baltimore/Washington worldwide Thurgood Marshall Airport, connected through Fort Lauderdale, and arrived at Rafael Núñez inter-national Airport by 30 pm.

Our two hour layover at FLL got the party started, a lot of us slept through trip first leg. We had smooth snacks, sandwiches, salads and even hereafter, as we gathered at bar next to our gate. La Marca. We were so excited to see that the airport bar carried our favorite. Shows or rounds what we were celebrating, where we were going, and offered to get group pictures for us, as we enjoyed a couple of strangers came up. It was virtually like our excitement was contagious. In any case, I could see a lot of actionpacked journeys that they had planned for our first evening fading away.
Her team quite fast loaded our luggage into the minibus.
Our late morning flights had us running on fumes, and we were pretty beat when we arrived in Cartagena.
We excitedly started on the 15 minute ride to the Intercontinental Hotel. Laura of Gema Tours, was waiting for us as we cleared customs. Now look. I tally understood. Nevertheless, we made fast wardrobe rethinking after a check in. We walked to Kokorico, for a late lunch of roasted chicken, fried chicken, arepas. Besides, quite hot chicken made to order! They delivered our napkins, soft drinks, silverware and gloves. One at a time, we placed our orders at register. Now pay attention please. We sat and enjoyed how cool it was to see that at this fastfood restaurant, they have servers.
We expected outcome was definitely worth it, while for any longerer than we probably were used to at a fastfood restaurant.
We attempted to walk off food n we’d just taken, after our late lunch.
Thereafter, we walked a few more reached beach, blocks or responded tiki call hut servers to have, come or even sit cocktails. With that said, I’d planned for us to go back to the hotel, get, nap or dressed for dinner and dancing. Although, we sat decided, lazily and happily that this was pretty much how our first day in Cartagena was preparing to wind down.
We quickly realized this was maybe not a horrible decision, with waves splashing and sun setting as a backdrop. Besides, a couple of regional musicians sang songs for us, a stray beach dog slept at our feet, and growled at anyone that came near us. Hotel manager stopped us as we headed to elevators. Being tally wiped out now, we had an eight am pick up the next day for out trip to Isla de Rosario, and we wanted to be almost ready. She offered us two for one nightcaps, and our own individual rooftop section pool area. And now here’s the question. Who could turn that down? In addition, there was a tremendous party about to make over bar and rooftop pool deck.
